I creep book quite a bit and I came across a story today that is quite shocking! Darcey Swennumson of Medicine Hat, Alberta got into a sticky situation when eyebrow wax got into her eye lashes. After her appointment they still made her pay in full. However, surprise the debit machine is out!
The solution?
Use the ATM machine in wal-mart! After she walks over there, guess what OUT OF ORDER!
Now what?
Go buy something and get cashback from wal-mart.
Huh?
Oh and now we're going to laugh at you for having wax in your eye and being flustered about the entire ordeal! The manager even goes as far to challenge her to tell everyone in Medicine Hat about the ordeal. I really hope she meets that goal and the manager gets fired.
I know I've been in a position like hers, although it involved lunch at New York Fries in Calgary.
I was working with my brother doing stucco, and we usually grabbed food from wherever that was close to the Job Site. This particular time it was New York fries in Marlborough mall.
I ordered a Hot Dog with fries and a coke. After inputting my PIN on the number pad and pressing OK I proceeded to add condiments to my meal. The tiller interrupted me and said that the transaction failed and I needed to do it again.
I noticed the error message said Line Busy, or something similiar. I knew right away that the issue was on the shops end. Not the card or bank.
Whatever.
I re-did the process and again tried to add condiments when again the tiller stopped me from doing so. I asked if I could just do this since your machine is erroring out and will probably work the next time. At this point a man, whom I believe WAS the manager spoke out and said "no lunch for you".
That was pretty upsetting and I tried to explain to them that the error was with them. Of course they didn't believe me, and I got to pissed off at the last comment to care anymore.
I left the food and walked over to KFC and got a meal there and paid successfully with my debit card on the first try.
I sat back down and watched a lady order something from New York Fries. She too tried to pay with debit and it again failed.
Guess what!?
The manager this time gave the meal to the lady for free, and probably started looking for what the problem was. My guess is they have phone on the same line that the debit machine uses and was off the hook for some reason.
Fuck you New York Fries.
I never go to any New York Fries establishments anymore.
Anyways Here is Darcey's story (you can read the original [here])
"On Saturday, March 5, at approximately 5:00pm, I went to Regal Nails to have my eyebrows waxed. It was my first time using any type of service in this salon.
The technician who waxed my brows completely disregarded my instructions on how I wanted my brows waxed. Partway through the waxing, I confirmed my instructions, and at that point she still disregarded them.
During the waxing, she also dropped a glob of hot wax on the inner corner of my eye. She tried for a moment to remove the wax, then simply advised me, "It will come off in the shower." For the record, it didn't. I still have wax on my eyelashes, and both the lid and undereye area are raw and slightly swollen.
When the waxing was complete, and I went to the counter to pay, their debit machine was not working. They advised me to use the ATM machine located within Walmart. I pointed out that that machine charges a fee on top of my bank's fee to withdraw money, but they did not care.
I then went to use the ATM to withdraw money, and noticed an "Out of Order" sign on it. When I returned to the salon and advised them of this, they asked me to make a purchase in Walmart and take out extra money at the till to pay for my waxing.
I found all of this to be extremely disappointing, not to mention a big inconvenience and very unprofessional. However, I did as requested and then returned with cash in hand.
At that point I asked to speak with the manager of the salon. I explained that it was my first visit, and would be my last. He asked why, so I started to explain my reasons, based on the above.
He interrupted me partway through, and demanded payment for the eyebrow waxing, going so far as to reach for the money in my hand.
At that point I advised him that I would be telling everyone I know about my experience that day, and his response was, "There are 65000 people in Medicine Hat. Go ahead." He then collected payment for the brow waxing, and I left. During this encounter, the technician who waxed my brows was standing beside the manager, smirking and trying not to laugh.
I can honestly say that this is the worst treatment I have ever received at any place, at any time. I would hate for anyone else to go through anything like this, so I'm trying to let everyone know not to use this place for any type of service!
I'm not gonna lie, either -- he invitation for me to "go ahead" and tell everyone about what happened makes me determined to get the word out to as many people as I can, so go ahead and pass this on to everyone you know."
